Clara Luft is a former almost-lawyer. She earned a BA in Political Science and Economics, then spent her early-to-mid twenties in Brooklyn teaching yoga, collecting more character material than she bargained for, and taking improv comedy classes.

One time she moved to Asheville for a full-blown quarter-life crisis year, where she was a professional baker, wrote a vampire novel, and took acting classes (which turned out to be exactly like all the spiritual shit she did in Brooklyn). Turns out the only difference between a breakdown and a breakthrough is stage direction.

She currently lives in Florida, where she writes poolside, watches dolphins feast on fish at sunset, and dodges pelican shit. When she’s not writing she’s walking her dog, Penny, or out hunting for the ideal dry Cabernet, or pursuing other artistic outlets.

A Case for Three is her debut novel.
